Electrical Purchasing Manager


AW Control Systems Ltd is currently seeking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join our vibrant team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading-edge company who design, manufacture, install and commission electrical control systems with a customer base that extends across the globe.

Role Requirements:

The Role requires the candidate to:

  • Liaise with electrical designer engineers and wider team members to proactively drive the competitive procurement of electrical parts and components across the business.
  • Understand business needs and manage colleague expectations providing regular delivery updates as required.
  • Issue Purchase Orders and follow-up with Suppliers regarding lead times.
  • Develop and maintain excellent Supplier relationships dealing with any problems that may arise.
  • Ensure materials are ordered promptly to allow sufficient time for control panel manufacture and testing ensuring customer delivery deadlines are met.
  • Monitor and control delivery charging / carriage rates from suppliers

Desirable Criteria:

  • 2- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to understand, interpret and explain electrical schematics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to manage workload on a day to day basis and work independently using their own initiative with minimum supervision as and when required as well as ability to work as part of a team
